Royal Arctic Line joins the Branding Greenland team

Minister for Foreign Affairs Aleqa Hammond and Chief Executive Officer Jens Andersen have entered into an agreement which means that Royal Arctic Line will join the Branding Greenland team on January 1st, 2008, states a press release from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Royal Arctic Line is Greenland’s largest cargo shipping company. It is owned by the Greenland Home Rule.

”I am delighted that Royal Arctic Line has decided to join the team, says Aleqa Hammond. – The whole idea behind this teamwork is that we can achieve more with a long-term, joint effort than we could on our own with scattered resources.”

”There has never been a multi-year team effort like this before. This in itself is an achievement. It is important that we create a foundation for increased trade and export of Greenlandic products and services, increased tourism, increased investments from outside and increased international awareness of our art and culture. It is important that we work on this together. This is why I welcome Royal Arctic Line”, ends Aleqa Hammond.

Branding Greenland was established to increase knowledge of Greenland and the positive values that define our country and its products, through coordinated efforts and goal-orientated, international promotion. There is a special focus on the affluent markets in the USA, England and Germany.

The activities of Royal Arctic Line cover a number of subsidiaries and divisions. Approximately 650 people are employed in the organisation. The parent company is Royal Arctic Line Ltd, which is owned by the Home Rule Government of Greenland. Royal Arctic Line offers a weekly, year-round liner service between Greenland and the rest of the world via Aalborg, Denmark, as well as shipments to Greenlandic towns.

Other companies cooperating in the branding effort are Air Greenland, Royal Greenland, KNI and Greenland Tourism and Business Council and the Home Rule Government of Greenland represented by the Department of Industry, Tusagassiivik and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
